Professional Experience

• Conducting techno-economic studies to evaluate energy projects.

• Leading the development of computational tools applied to power-sector regulation.

• R&D projects focused on market design and tariff pilots, ancillary services, technical and non-technical losses, distributed energy resources, electrification, energy storage, system flexibility, and low-carbon hydrogen.

• Assessing the operational flexibility of Brazil’s National Interconnected Power System (SIN) amid the expansion of variable renewables and the role of utility-scale storage.

• Feasibility analysis of emerging energy technologies, such as hydrogen and offshore wind, and formulation of incentive policies for decarbonization.

• Designing innovative regulatory frameworks and preparing regulatory recommendations, with economic and operational impact assessments across generation, distribution, and transmission.

• Running, configuring, and analyzing results from power-system dispatch and planning optimization models, including DESEMM, SDDP, and PLEXOS.

• Deputy project coordination at GESEL (2015–2019), with emphasis on regulatory analysis and long-term planning.

• Author of journal articles and book chapters in energy, planning, and regulation.
